TUSD Friday Fun Foto! "One, Two, Tree"

Tustin Unified School District third-grader Henry Wang is learning to branch out and enjoys his new little tree along with other students in teacher Janis Leach’s classroom at Arroyo Elementary School. The Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club recently conducted its annual Arbor Day program for all third-grade students in the District. The Rotary Club provides each student with a presentation about Arbor Day and a tree they can plant at home. This year, due to coronavirus safety protocols, Rotary members were not be able to visit TUSD elementary schools and present their program in-person. However, the Rotary Club continued the program by delivering trees and brochures, and creating an Arbor Day video for teachers and their students. Students were thrilled to receive their new saplings! Some of their comments included: "I will take care of my tree and make sure it is doing well.” "Thank you so much for the trees and letting this day happen even though we are going through a hard time.” “I will make sure to take good care of my tree. I love my tree so much!" The Rotary Club has sponsored its Arbor Day program for the past 25 years. It’s a tree-mendous tradition!
