Past President Wayne Olmstead will discuss the Tustin-Santa And Rotary Club Foundation, and how and why it exists, and the purpose it serves for the club and the community.
Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club established the Club Foundation in 1984. The continuing support for awards and additions to the endowment are provided on an annual basis by the Rotary Club and its many friends. The Club Foundation is an exempt Section 501(c3) organization, ensuring that donations to the Club Foundation are deductible.
Direct donations to the Club Foundation build the endowment, thereby providing continuing growth in support for the community and its citizens.
The Rotary awards given by the Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club Foundation are financial gifts to Orange County based non-profit organizations and agencies.
The purpose of the Rotary awards is to provide a mechanism whereby the Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club may support and encourage organizations which promote service to the community and its residents.
The Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary Club Foundation raises funds through donations, Lobsterfest and interest income to the foundation.
Each June, a number of awards are given in amounts up to $1,000 each. Additionally, a major award may be given in the range of $5,000 to the entrant that best demonstrates the motto “Service Above Self.”
