This is the third year that Rotary District 5320 and Operation:  A Bit of Home have sponsored a drive to send Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes to our troops.  Last year Rotary Clubs in District 5320 send over 1000 boxes!!!

November is the month of Thanksgiving.  Let's remember all of our troops with a Thanksgiving prayer and a box from home!  Send boxes filled with dried fruit, nuts, hard candies, Pringles, licorice, fruit bars, gum, sweetened powdered drink mixes like Kool Aid and Citrus juices, tea bags, and gourmet coffee.  Just about anything a young person would enjoy such as used CD's and DVD's that you no longer want, car and sportsman's magazines, and puzzles.  Please enclose a Thank You card to servicemen for their duty to God and country!  Any questions, please contact T-SA Community Chair, Bob Casey by e-mail at
ocbobcasey@aol.com or Bob Meyer, Train Conductor, Orange Rotary at 714 639-5218 or by email at bobmeyer@yahoo.com

Please send the boxes to:
Mr. Stephen Stelzer, or Current MWR Administrator,"
USMI Freedom Rest
AE APO 90316

Freedom Rest is the only R&R facility in Iraq.  It entertains over 2500 troops a month.  In the last two years Operation A Bit of Home has sent over 3000 boxes to soldiers in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Iraq.  These goodies are shared with soldiers at check points, those stationed out in the sticks, and convoys of soldiers passing through Baghdad.  For more information about supporting our troops, please visit
