Tustin Tiller Days October, 3-4-5, 2008
October 3, 4, 5, 2008. A regular event in Tustin since 1957, Tustin Tiller Days will be held at the Columbus Tustin Park, located at the corner of Prospect and Irvine Blvd. The event provides an opportunity for Tustin to celebrate Orange County's agricultural heritage. It is also an opportunity for local non-profit grops to raise funds. Over the years, local civic organizations have raised thousands of dollars to benefit a wide variety of local needs. The parade is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The carnival will bemain open till 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Rubber Boot Race is just before the parage on Saturday, October 4th through Old Towne, the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Tustin-Santa Ana and Tiller Days Committee are sponsoring the Rubber Boot Race. The entry fee is $20 for adults, $15 for kids and seniors. All participants must wear rubber boots and sign the Guiness World Records Log at the finish line. This event will be an effort to break the record established by the Scotts in 2007 when they had 1,022 rubber boot clad runners. The race will begin at 8 am at Mervyn's in the Courtyard and end at Columbus Tustin Park, Irvine and Prospect where each runner will get a pancake breakfast at the Chamber of Commerce Booth. Part of the profit will go to (SOS) Save Our Sports, supporting after school athletics in TUSD elementary campuses.
